Ron Paul Set for Jay Leno

by Gambling 911 - October 28, 2007

What do Ron Paul, Pistols and bombs have in common? On October 30,2007 Ron Paul will appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Make sure to set your TiVo. Not only will Ron Paul appear, but so will the Sex Pistols and Tom Cruise. It should be quite a night.

What this shows is that the mainstream is starting to sit up and ask, Who is Ron Paul? The people are curious and now the big talk shows are responding. Of course, the Daily Show and the Colbert Report already had him on, but they are always cutting edge. Now, the regular Joe will have a chance to hear more than a thirty second blurb from Ron Paul, which is really exciting. Hopefully, people will begin to see that Ron Paul is anything but a fringe candidate. In fact, he is probably the least fringe of them all. He has a very simple message and plan: just follow the Constitution. That's it.

Now, most people, including me I admit, cannot recite the Constitution to you, but most have a vague idea of why it is important to follow. One of those reasons is that the U.S. Constitution puts limits on the amount of power the government can use against the people. This is important because the government has so much power that you need something to balance things out. In the past few years a lot of our rights have been lost that once were guaranteed by the Constitution. You wouldn't think this were necessary, and it is a tragedy that it is, but Ron Paul has introduced a bill to restore the Constitution's checks and balances and protections against government abuses as envisioned by the Founding Fathers. It is called the American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007 and is bill number H.R. 3835 and can be found here. Call your congressman and ask them to support it.

This bill is not too long. Only three pages, but I suggest that everyone read the link provided. If nothing else, it will teach you the kinds of things of things that are happening in this country that I bet would surprise you. For example in this bill, the "President is prohibited from detaining any individual indefinitely as an unlawful enemy combatant absent proof by substantial evidence that the individual has directly engaged in active hostilities against the United States..." (emphasis added). Sadly, we are now living in a country where currently the President can and is detaining people indefinitely without any proof of wrong doing. So much for innocent until proven guilty. One wonders how many people in this country are aware that the most basic of rights - the right to see an attorney - is in jeopardy?

Ron Paul's appearance on the Tonight Show will be a great chance for Dr. Paul to spread his message of peace and freedom to folks who may not have been following the political trail too closely. It could also bump up his numbers in the polls and possibly lower the current odds of him becoming President.

Ok, so we covered Ron Paul, and Pistols, what about bombs? Well, on Tuesday October 30, 2007 the second official Money Bomb will be launched to coincide with the Tonight Show appearance. What is a money bomb? It is a day that a bunch of people agree to donate whatever they can to the campaign all at once. You can find the site that is leading this cause at http://www.ronpaulmoneybomb.com . They direct you to the Ron Paul official campaign so you don't have to worry about donating to an unknown source. The site itself is interesting and has a nice video and shows statistics of how the campaign is doing. The last money bomb raised approximately $30,000.00 in one day. Perhaps the campaign can do better with this one.

If you visit the official Ron Paul site at http://www.ronpaul2008.com you will see a picture of the Statue of Liberty raising her torch high. Lady Liberty shows just how much money Dr. Paul has raised this month alone. At the time of this writing that figure was nearly $2.3 million dollars raised online. I guess all those "spammers" are now spamming the campaign with their dollars as well as online votes in polls. I wonder how Hannity will try to spin that? (For those of you who do not know what I am talking about, whenever Fox news has a debate they conduct a text poll that only allows you to vote once per phone. After each debate Ron Paul has won with a very large percentage of the voters. Also, after each of these victories Sean Hannity, dishonestly claims that Ron Paul supporters are somehow "fixing" the results of their polls. At one point, Fox news was so desperate for these figures to be untrue that they tried to claim that Ron Paul supporters must have purchased dozens of cell phones each just to spam their text poll! Now that is really reaching!)

It is coming down to the wire and the first primaries begin around two months from now. There is not much time left. So, have some fun on October 30, next Tuesday that is. Watch the Tonight Show, and no doubt no one will be upset if you join in the "Money Bomb."

Speaking of Money Bombs, there is also a huge effort to have November 5, 2007 be the largest one day political donation event in history. The goal is to get 100,000 subscribers to donate $100 each creating a one day donation total of $10,000,000. If you wish to be a part of that event and want to officially register your support you can find the link here or of course you can just donate on your own that day. Wouldn't it be fascinating if they can raise even half of what they are seeking? If you like Ron Paul and want to see him win, join in on one or both of these days. The media attention from raising ten million in one day would be priceless. The Ron Paul campaign is bracing itself and its servers for a major stream of visitors on that day. (FYI, the Ron Paul campaign mentions the name of each donor as soon as you donate online, so if you wish you can take a screen shot of your joining in the "revolution," however, for the more private types there is also an option on their donation page to "opt out" of having your name flashed across the screen. You have to un-click the box that says you give permission for your name and location to be displayed as a donor. Not everyone wants to be a star!)

Don't forget to set the DVR for October 30, 2007 for the Tonight Show. Times vary by local market.
