Pope sends monetary aid to Gazans
Pope Benedict XVI earlier condemned the Israeli raids against Gazan civilians, saying, "Violence, wherever it comes from and whatever form it takes, must be firmly condemned." He lamented "a renewed outbreak of violence provoking immense damage and suffering for the civilian population."

Israel set to swallow defeat in Gaza
"The Prime Minister [Ehud Olmert] will announce following this evening's cabinet meeting a unilateral ceasefire of hostilities in the Gaza Strip," the official told AFP on condition of anonymity.
The proposed ceasefire has been met with strong criticism in the Israeli military, reported Debkafile, which is widely believed to have links with Israeli military and intelligence sources. According to the report, Israel will end its war on Gaza without achieving its primary goals, including "halting rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip".

Israel expects army officers to be prosecuted for war crimes
A number of human rights organizations, and the International Red Cross, have already indicated they are looking at breaches of international law. The whole question of the legality of the Gaza War is also being examined. Amnesty International has written to the United Nations Security Council calling for the establishment of full accountability for crimes committed in the Gaza conflict and for deployment of human rights monitors. In the letter, Amnesty says it wants the Security Council to “take firm action to ensure full accountability for war crimes and other serious abuses of international human rights and humanitarian law.”

A walk through Gaza
As you stroll, remember your tax dollars and silence made all of this possible...
America's War Crimes in Gaza by Paul Findley
The American people, largely unaware about our governments subservience to Israel, are unwitting partners in the inhuman brutality being inflicted on the people of Gaza. The fighter planes, helicopter gun-ships, tanks, and missiles used to visit death, injury and destruction upon the Palestinians are gifts of the U.S. government. In the UN Security Council, only the United States opposed a call for an immediate ceasefire.
Without Americas unconditional military and political support, Israel could never carry out the destruction of Gaza or its humiliation of Palestinians in the West Bank and other war crimes. Americas indifference to the plight of Gazans makes we wonder if our citizens have lost all capacity for moral outrage.
If you wish to find out who is really responsible for Israels scofflaw behavior and war crimes, look in the mirror. Citizens like you and me let lobbyists for a small, ruthless government make America its uncomplaining servant.

Ahmadinejad's letter to Saudi Arabia
As all free men and nations have raised their voices in protest of the Zionist regime and the atrocities it is committing in Gaza, it is expected of you as the Saudi Arabian King and the Custodian of the Two Holy Places, i.e Makkah and Medina, to break your silence on the catastrophic events and the massacre taking place in Gaza and take a clear stance on the murder of your children, who are dear to the Islamic Ummah.
Gideon Levy / Someone must stop Israel's rampant madness in Gaza
The streets of Gaza Thursday looked like killing fields in the midst of the "third stage" and worse. Israel is arrogantly ignoring the Security Council's resolution calling for a cease-fire and is shelling the UN compound in Gaza, as if to show its real feeling toward that institution. Emergency supplies intended for Gaza residents are going up in flames in the burning warehouses. Thick black smoke is rising from the burning flour sacks and the fuel reserves near them, covering the streets.

The sources of Arabs’ Shame: Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia
The often asked question, when it comes to the Palestinians, is about the role of Arab countries in the Palestinian struggle for freedom. The people not familiar with the political landscape of the area often see the Middle East as two camps, Arab countries on one side and Israel on the other. The reality is totally different. Israel has seldom been alone. Beside its usual American, French, British and other staunch allies, she has had the hidden backing of several Arab countries.

Ismail Haniyeh: My message to the West – Israel must stop the slaughter
Ismail Haniyeh, the Palestinian Prime Minister, speaking on Al-Aqsa TV in Gaza earlier this week
Despite its frantic efforts to conceal it, the root cause of Israel's criminal war on Gaza is the elections of January 2006, which saw Hamas win by a substantial majority. What occurred next was that Israel alongside the United States and the European Union joined forces in an attempt to quash the democratic will of the Palestinian people. They set about reversing the decision first by obstructing the formation of a national unity government and then by making a living hell for the Palestinian people through economic strangulation. The abject failure of all these machinations finally led to this vicious war. Israel's objective is to silence all voices that express the will of the Palestinian; thereafter it would impose its own terms for a final settlement depriving us of our land, our right to Jerusalem as the rightful capital of our future state and the Palestinian refugees' right to return to their homes.

Jewish British lawmaker likens Israel to Nazis
A veteran British Jewish lawmaker compared the Israeli offensive in Gaza Thursday to the Nazis who forced his family to flee from Poland. Gerald Kaufman, a member of the Jewish Labour movement linked to Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s ruling party, also called for an arms embargo against Israel.
"My grandmother was ill in bed when the Nazis came to her home town . . . a German soldier shot her dead in her bed," Kaufman said during a parliamentary debate on the 20-day-old war which has left over 1,000 dead.
"My grandmother did not die to provide cover for Israeli soldiers murdering Palestinian grandmothers in Gaza.

History did not begin with the Qassams
History did not begin with the Qassam rockets. But for us, the Israelis, history always begins when the Palestinians hurt us, and then the pain is completely decontextualized. We think that if we cause the Palestinians much greater pain, they will finally learn their lesson. Some term this "achievement."

Comparison of military strength of Israel and the Palestinians
As the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians has once again flared up following Israel's ongoing air and ground assault on the Gaza Strip, the IMEU presents a comparison of Israeli and Palestinian military capabilities.
And, the Zionists thump their collective chests with pride.... This is not "war," this is a well armed modern army murdering basically defenseless civilians who would rather die than remain under a brutal occupation.

The IDF has no mercy for the children in Gaza nursery schools
The fighting in Gaza is "war deluxe." Compared with previous wars, it is child's play - pilots bombing unimpeded as if on practice runs, tank and artillery soldiers shelling houses and civilians from their armored vehicles, combat engineering troops destroying entire streets in their ominous protected vehicles without facing serious opposition. A large, broad army is fighting against a helpless population and a weak, ragged organization that has fled the conflict zones and is barely putting up a fight. All this must be said openly, before we begin exulting in our heroism and victory.
So, it makes one wonder how the Zionists can thump their chests with pride for winning a "war" with Hamas. Or, how the IDF (Israeli Death Force) can somehow regain its creditability for the 2006 defeat in Lebanon by killing women and children. Please remember that Hamas has no F-16 jet fighters, no Apache gunships, no ships, no personnnel carriers, no artillery, no tanks, no night vision goggles, no.., well, you get the message... But, Hamas does have a few things - faith, courage, and the hope for freedom and a brighter day for their children and loved ones...

U.S. may cut $1b in loan guarantees to Israel over West Bank settlements
The United States administration plans to cut about $1 billion from the balance of its loan guarantees to Israel because of its investments in the settlements. The balance currently stands at $4.6 billion.

Israel's free ride ends
As Israel pulverises Gaza, questions and doubts about Israeli policy are becoming more prominent in the American media
An American media that turned a blind eye to Israeli expansionism and human rights abuses ultimately made the Jewish state less, not more, secure. Without the US putting pressure on Israel to dismantle the settlements and loosen the blockade in Gaza, leaders there had neither the incentive nor the political cover to do so. Now that the American press is displaying a bit of courage in facing an unfolding catastrophe abetted by American leadership, perhaps our politicians will have room to do the same.
But, I'll wager this will only go so far...

The "Geostrategic" Imperative of "Greater Israel"
“The process of national revival of the Jewish people is irreversible and has its internal logic. We shall have no peace as long as the whole territory of the Country of Israel will not return under Jewish control. This might sound too hard, but such is the logic of history.
The war on the Holy Land has been already fought for four thousand years and the end cannot be seen. A stable peace will come only then, when Israel will return to itself all its historical lands, and will thus control both the Suez and the Ormudz channel. The state will find at last its geostrategic completeness. We must remember that Iraqi oil fields too are located on the Jewish land. This may seem utopia to many now - but an even greater utopia seemed a hundred years ago the revival of the Jewish state...

You see, its really not about the Arabs trying to "push the Jews into the sea." On the contrary, its about the Zionists trying to push the Arabs into the desert. Consider what has already happened - the only state that has been "wiped from the map" is Palestine...

Not all Jews agree with Israel's Gaza action
Israel has consistently failed to destroy the Palestinian spirit and refuses to end its colonial addiction to settlement expansion. The war against Gaza is simply another chapter in Israel's futile attempt at redrawing the Middle East map. Until the Jewish state acts like a responsible international citizen, it should be treated with appropriate sanction.

USS Liberty Survivor: Israel is Public Enemy #1
Things are very tense in the Middle East and as a survivor of Israel’s attack on the USS Liberty 41 years ago I am convinced that the truth about what happened to us can change the world and change what people believe about “poor old Israel”, as the Liberty story is the straw that will break the back of the Zionist Government murderers. Americans will not stand with Israel when the Liberty truth is told, and it is our duty to get this done now!
Zionists-Nazi massacre leaves no place for Gazans to bury their dead
One family buried a slain son over his grandfather. Another bundled up the tiny bodies of three young cousins and lowered them into the grave of a long-dead aunt. A man was laid to rest with his brother. More than two weeks into the Israeli offensive that has killed more than 940 Palestinians, Gazans are struggling to find places to bury their dead. Cemeteries throughout Gaza City that were closed for new burials have now reopened.

Palestinian deaths in the Gaza Strip have passed 1,000, medical sources in Gaza say, as diplomatic efforts continue to reach a ceasefire.

In fact, Israel murdered nearly 200 police officers who were graduating from the Palestinian police academy in the very early moments of their massacre. Pentagon official says 9/11 suspect was tortured
Al-Qaeda suspect Mohammed al-Qahtani during his 2006 trial in Sanaa, Yemen. Qahtani -- a Saudi suspected of involvement in the September 11 terror attacks -- was tortured in Guantanamo Bay, the official overseeing trials at the detention site has told the Washington Post
A Pentagon official acknowledged in an interview published Wednesday that the United States tortured Mohammed al-Qahtani, a Saudi man who allegedly had hoped to become the "20th hijacker" in the Sept. 11 attacks.
"We tortured Qahtani," said Susan J. Crawford, a retired judge who was appointed convening authority of military commissions in February 2007. Crawford was interviewed by The Washington Post's Bob Woodward.

Like stomping kittens in a box
"Take some kittens, some tender little moggies in a box", said Jamal, a surgeon at the Al Shifa, Gaza's main hospital, while a nurse actually placed a couple of blood-stained cardboard boxes in front of us. "Seal up the box, then jump on it with all your weight and might, until you feel their little bones crunching, and you hear the last muffled little mew."
I stared at the boxes in astonishment, and the doctor continued: "Try to imagine what would happen after such images were circulated. The righteous outrage of public opinion, the complaints of the animal rights organisations…" The doctors went on in this vein, and I was unable to take my eyes off those boxes, sitting at our feet. "Israel trapped hundreds of civilians inside a school as if in a box, including many children, and then crushed them with all the might of its bombs. What were the world's reactions? Almost nothing. We would have been better off as animals rather than Palestinians, we would have been more protected."

Barack Obama’s first mistake - His silence on Gaza
The German newspaper, Sueddeutsche Zeitung no less, scorned Obama for his stance, stating that "Gaza is burning, and Israel's bombs are causing daily casualties, but the world can only expect change at twelve noon sharp on January 20." And, all the way in the Philippines, Randy David writes thus: "By any measure, this is not a war but a slaughter, not a retaliatory response but an outrageous massacre. The Jewish nation's transformation from colossal victim to callous aggressor is complete... As Israelis and Palestinians stared menacingly at each other on Christmas Day, the rest of us stared indifferently, forgetting that, in the last analysis, we are all Gazans."

Ten Israeli soldiers choose jail over Gaza
On "conscience’s grounds," the soldiers refused orders to head to the Gaza Strip, they said.
No'em Levna, a first lieutenant in Israel's army, refused to serve in Gaza, saying, "We killed 900 Palestinians in 17 days, including hundreds of children."
"If violence must be used, it should be used minimally, and that isn't what’s happening," he added. "Killing innocent civilians cannot be justified. Nothing justifies this kind of killing. It’s devilish."

Olmert Brags About Embarrassing Rice in UN Gaza Vote
Israeli Prime Minister Demanded Bush Halt Lecture to Stop Gaza Truce Vote
Early Friday morning the secretary of state was considering bringing the cease-fire resolution to a UNSC vote and we didn’t want her to vote for it.” Olmert said. “I said ‘get President Bush on the phone.’ They tried and told me he was in the middle of a lecture in Philadelphia. I said ‘I’m not interested, I need to speak to him now.’ He got down from the podium, went out and took the phone call.
A beaming Olmert then described telling President Bush “the US cannot possibly vote in favor of this resolution,” and spoke with pride of how embarrassed US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was at having to abstain from voting for a resolution she helped to organize and gather support for.

Say "Thank You" to Jon Stewart
On The Daily Show's January 5 "Strip Maul" segment, Jon Stewart did what few American television personalities have dared to do: he criticized Israel's campaign against Gaza, making it clear that bombing will not bring peace for Israelis or Palestinians. He mocked the one-sided response of U.S. politicians by calling the Israeli-Palestinian conflict the "Mobius strip of issues because there's only one side!"
Jon Stewart is sure to be swamped with hate mail from the Zionists for his comments criticizing Israel's massacre in Gaza and reminding his audience that the Zionist controlled mainstream media and political pundits are parroting the talking points given them by the Israeli spin machine.
Please click here to extend your support to Jon - I'm sure he will need it in the coming days and weeks.

The Palestinians–Following in the Footsteps of the American Revolution
There is something soooooo familiar about all of this. Now, let’s see, we have on one side one of the most wealthy and militarily-powerful nations in the world throwing everything they have against a ragtag group of people fighting to rid their lands of foreign occupation. A military blockade has been imposed upon the native peoples, preventing them from engaging in business they need to sustain themselves. The occupying power, demonstrating its complete disregard for human life and the fact it does not distinguish between civilian and combatants is engaged in deliberately burning down entire towns in achieving its ends.
Naturally, the freedom fighters are called criminals and have no just basis for their grievances. The occupying power, understanding the paramount importance of decapitation, is actively engaged in hunting down the leaders of this movement.
Why, yes, that’s it–It’s the exact same scenario that took place a relatively short while ago between the British and the Americans in what came to be known as the American Revolution.

Gaza's tunnels, traps and martyrs: the Hamas strategy to defeat Israel
Morale was high, Mohammed insisted. Hamas had lost fewer fighters than expected and there was an infinite supply of eager replacements for those “martyred”. It still had plenty of rockets that could be launched remotely from hidden bunkers. “We can continue as long as it takes,” he said. “I tell you, even our ghosts will defeat the Israelis.”

Rethinking Zionism
We anti-Zionists can say with honor that anti-Zionists like Rabbi Elmer Berger identified the problems with Zionism 60 years ago, accurately when he said that Zionism meant contempt for the Arab population, dependence on a backroom lobby in the United States, and the introduction of dual loyalty into American Jewish life. All true.
America’s Shame
Why does Israel have a right to exist, but Palestine doesn’t? This is the question of our time. For sixty years Israelis have been stealing Palestine from Palestinians. There are maps available on the Internet and in Israeli publications showing the shrinkage over time of what was once Palestine into what Palestine is today--a small number of unconnected ghettos or bantustans.

How Israel's Propaganda Machine Works
As in past Mideast conflicts, both the media story line and political commentary here in the U.S. has closely followed Israel's talking points on the war. This has been an essential component in Israel's early success and in its ability to prolong fighting without U.S. pushback. Because it recognizes the importance of the propaganda war, Israel fights on this front as vigorously and disproportionately as it engages on the battlefield.

Gaza Is the Future
Israel is following the "Clean Break" plan almost to the letter, shedding its old role as a dependent settler-colony under continuous siege. In Gaza – and, be assured, throughout the Middle East – Israel is asserting its new role as regional hegemon in a multi-polar world. Israel, not the U.S., is taking the initiative and leading its great ally and "protector" around by the nose, with the Lobby serving as an effective rein on any sudden spasms of self-interest.

The hijacking of the Jewish faith
The creation of the Zionist entity has been based on what is described as the divine concept of the Promised Land. Interpreting the book of Genesis (17:7 - 9) of the Old Testament, Zionists say the land of Canaan forever belongs to the Jewish people.
"And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."
"And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations."
These verses provide, in their opinion, the primary basis for the Promised Land concept. But this is not the view of all Jews. Many Orthodox Jews and groups such as the Neturei Karta object to the Zionist interpretation and state that the "covenant" was based solely upon the people's obedience to the Will of God.

Israel’s bombardment of Gaza is not self-defence – it’s a war crime
Israel’s actions amount to aggression, not self-defence, not least because its assault on Gaza was unnecessary. Israel could have agreed to renew the truce with Hamas. Instead it killed 225 Palestinians on the first day of its attack. As things stand, its invasion and bombardment of Gaza amounts to collective punishment of Gaza’s 1.5m inhabitants contrary to international humanitarian and human rights law. In addition, the blockade of humanitarian relief, the destruction of civilian infrastructure, and preventing access to basic necessities such as food and fuel, are prima facie war crimes.
Dead cat mourned at White House while victims of Gaza are ignored
On the phone from Gaza, Zahrah Salem shares the news she has just seen, that so many at the White House were “deeply saddened” by the death of the cat India Willie. Why, she asks, is nobody at the White House deeply saddened by the death of so many children in Gaza.

14 Percent of U.S. Adults Can't Read
Statistics released by the U.S. Education Department this week show that some 32 million U.S. adults lack basic prose literacy skill. That means they can't read a newspaper or the instruction on a bottle of pills. The figures are for 2003, the latest year available. State and county results are available here.
