Anti-Islam Film Targets "Swing State" Voters

The 2006 film, "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West", which has been accused by critics of encouraging Islamophobia, was reportedly delivered, or slated for delivery this weekend, into tens of millions of households in states such as Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Missouri and other "swing states" that don't vote consistently for either party and usually decide elections.

An investigation by IPS last year revealed that the production and promotion of "Obsession" was tied to several right-wing Zionist groups in the U.S. and Israel. Raphael Shore's brother, Rabbi Ephraim Shore, heads up the Israeli group Aish Hatorah, which helped form HonestReporting, an organisation which, the IPS investigation revealed, had ties to the film despite the apparent denials of the relationship.

The Negev's Local Council of Unrecognized Bedouin Villages is planning to rebuild the home of a widow, mother of five children, which was destroyed on Wednesday by the Israel Lands Authority.

Three illegally constructed homes were destroyed yesterday in the unrecognized Bedouin village of Bir al-Hamam, near Tel Sheva and Nebatim.

Demolition crews were accompanied by large police forces, and destroyed, among others, the home of a widow, a mother of five children aged 8 – 14. During the destruction of the house the mother fainted a number of times, and her eight-year daughter lay on the ground crying, and asked: "Mom, why are they destroying the house?"

Afterwards the mother took hold of a gas balloon and asked to end her life, as well as those of her children, but village residents succeeded in dissuading her and managed to calm her down.

The Chairman of the Council of Unrecognized Villages, Hussein al-Rafiya, has decided to set up a protest tent near the site of the destroyed home, and to remain in it until a new structure is built.

Speaking to Ynet, a shocked and saddened mother said: "I tried to make progress and advance my children, but the state failed me. Every penny I saved I built this home with so that there will be a roof for the children. A democratic state can't treat its citizens like this. We live here without electricity, even the chickens in the neighboring Jewish villages have electricity in the barns. So what should we think? I feel that the government doesn't want to make progress in negotiations with us, and I don't know what I'll do now."

Hussein al-Rafiya told Ynet: "We are planning to rebuild the home that was destroyed. All of the men of the village will come to help and we won't leave her without a roof." He added that he felt a stirring up among young Bedouin men. "Something is going to explode. I don't know what will happen exactly, but something not good will happen in the unrecognized villages."

The Interior Ministry said in a response yesterday that the National Monitoring Unit for Southern Construction destroyed the homes in cooperation with the police in accordance with an administrative demolishment decree placed against illegal construction. The structures were built on agricultural lands and the demolishing is part of the monitoring activities of the Southern District for Locating Illegal Construction.

Israel: perpetual criminal, perpetual liar

Just as the Nazis sought to concoct "reasons" to justify their criminality, the Zionist state of Israel and its fanatical supporters are doing the same thing to justify the slow-motion genocide the Jewish state is carrying out against the Gaza Strip’s 1.4 million inhabitants.

Israeli spokespersons and apologists, especially in North America, where Zionist Jews control the bulk of the mass media, routinely claim that Israel has no moral or legal obligation to feed and cater for the blockaded Gazans.

This is, of course, a blatantly misleading argument, because Israel is still "the occupying power" in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli army is still in tight control of Gaza’s skies, territorial waters and all border crossings.

Israel also controls the movement of individuals and the flow of goods and services to and from Gaza. Hence, Israel can’t maintain a tight control of Gaza and at the same time disavows responsibility for the human catastrophe and economic meltdown unfolding in that small territory.

There are those sick minds that would claim that since Israel is a sovereign state, it has the right to do what it sees fit to defend and preserve her interests.

Well, contemporary Nazis or neo-Nazis could make a similar argument about the Third Reich, namely that Germany under Hitler was a sovereign state and that it had every right to do what it deemed fit to defend and preserve Germany’s interests.

But if sovereign states have the right to behave as they see fit to defend their interests, then Jews should stop babbling about the holocaust, since, according to this preposterous logic, Germany had every right to do what it did in the course of the Second World War.

Sovereignty is not absolute, and no nation-state has the right to commit crimes against humanity or violate the human rights and liberties of its citizens and subjects under the pretext of sovereignty. Needless to say, the Palestinians in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip are Israel’s subjects and prisoners. Forget about the Palestinian judenrate called the Palestinian Authority.

Israeli spokespersons continue to shamelessly repeat is that Israel had ended its military occupation of Gaza, and is no longer responsible for the welfare of the territory’s 1.4 million human beings.

In truth, far from ending its occupation of the Gaza Strip, Israel has effectively reduced the small coastal enclave of about 300 square kilometers to a detention camp that is shockingly similar to the Ghetto Warsaw under the Nazis.

True, Israel did evacuate some 2000 Jewish settlers from Gaza, mainly to avoid the demographic consequences of annexing a large non-Jewish population into Israel.

But the Jewish state retained its control of Gaza’s lifeline by way of controlling food, power, and water supplies to the crowded enclave where nearly 70% of the population rely on monthly food aid from UNRWA and other aid organizations.

Last year, following the capture of an Israeli soldier by Palestinian guerillas, the Israeli army launched a widespread incursion in Gaza, killing hundreds of people, mostly innocent civilians.

Moreover, the Israeli army bombed and destroyed much of the civilian infrastructure in Gaza, including the only power station, roads, schools and public buildings.

The classical Israeli justification for the ongoing criminal blockade is that Israel has the right and duty to defend its citizens against the Qassam projectiles fired by Palestinian resistance fighters on nearby Jewish settlements.

This is, of course, a misleading argument. Hamas and the Palestinian Authority have repeatedly proposed a full ceasefire, and Israel always refused.

So, what does Israel really want? Kill Gazans slowly and as quietly as possible? Israel can’t starve and blockade Gaza and cut off fuel and electricity supplies and other vital commodities to its already tormented inhabitants and at the same time complain about the firing of a few and nearly innocuous projectiles that hardly cause any damage.

Indeed, in more than three years, and the firing of thousands of Qassam projectiles, no more than 10 Israelis were killed. Compare this to the numerous hundreds of Palestinian women, men and children mercilessly killed by Israel’s machine of death since the capture of the Israeli soldier last year. This is not retaliation. This is a protracted massacre.

It is really shame that lethal weapons of death, which are designed to be used against regular and powerful armies, are being used to inflict death and terror on helpless and utterly unprotected civilians. Yes, an army that uses F-16s and Apache helicopters and Merkava battle tanks against impoverished refugees is not an army of soldiers, but an army of thugs and common criminals.

Unfortunately, criminals, including criminal states, don’t understand the meaning of shame. It doesn’t exist in their dictionary.

To make a long story short, Israel is not sincere about this issue of the so-called Qassam "rockets." Israel routinely provokes the firing of these projectiles by killing Palestinians, starving them, barring them from fishing in their own waters, and preventing them from leaving Gaza for work, education, medical care and even pilgrimage to Islam’s holy places in Makka. Does the world know, or care to know, how many Gazans are awaiting death because a nation which calls itself a light unto the nations refuses to allow them to travel to Egypt or the West Bank to seek medical care? Shame on this hypocritical world! Shame!

Today, Gaza looks very much like a concentration camp, a place from which the smell of poverty, pain and despair is wafting all over the area, while morally bankrupt politicians keep babbling about Israel’s right to defend itself while utterly ignoring the Palestinians’ right to survival, security, food and dignity.

I know it is futile to appeal to most governments of the world which have come to be governed by the satanic doctrine of political correctness.

But conscientious men and women around the world can make a difference if they speak up and take to the streets to demand an abrupt end to the unfolding man-made tragedy in Gaza .

But in order to effect a change and save hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children from a slow and agonizing death, people of conscience and morality must speak up, hold demonstrations, take to the streets, and leave no stone unturned until this obscenity ends.

This is also an opportunity for Jews of conscience to demonstrate to the world that Jews are not like Germans who kept silent and remained indifferent while the Third Reich was doing what it was doing.

I’m saying that because if Ehud Olmert and Ehud Barak and other war criminals are doing what they are doing in your collective name, then do something real, and prove to the world that you are worthy of the sublime ideals you claim to adhere to.

History will not be kind to you if you don’t.

A scar on the nation

The bitter divisions between secular and religious in Israel that brought about Yitzhak Rabin's murder 12 years ago are as deep as ever.

Yigal Amir? They should have done him like Eichmann", spat a woman I met at Yitzhak Rabin's memorial, unable to keep the rage from penetrating her veneer of calm. A few days earlier, at a ceremony to mark Meir Kahane's assassination, I witnessed similar fury - albeit from the other direction - as a firebrand speaker cursed the Israeli government for "freeing vicious Arab terrorists every day whilst Amir rots in jail".

Despite a chorus of calls for Rabin's killer to be dealt justice, whether by executing or releasing him, the authorities have thus far stuck to the middle ground. Amir has been incarcerated ever since shooting the prime minister 12 years ago, and as a result has scarcely been out of the national consciousness ever since. His controversial wedding, his attempts to smuggle semen out to inseminate his wife, and his subsequent receiving of permission for conjugal visits, have all been widely reported on and dissected in the national media, reopening old wounds every time his name is mentioned.

"The assassin always dies", says Eleanor Shaw in the Manchurian Candidate - "it helps the national healing". In Amir's case, the fact that he's still alive and kicking (and, just this weekend, attending his son's circumcision), means that the public still can't put to bed the tragic events of 1995. The bitter divisions that brought about the murder, namely the tremendous polarisation between the secular and religious camps, are still evident in today's Israel, as I discovered in Rabin Square as 150,000 people gathered to remember his death.

The size of the crowd was impressive, with the numbers swelled - as Hillel Schenker noted - by people wanting to counter Amir's celebration of his son's circumcision. However, conspicuous by their absence were the religious Israelis, who - despite their political feelings - might have been expected to follow the Jewish custom of honouring the dead on their yahrtzeit (memorial date). "Look around you", said Blair, a left-wing activist who had been present on the fateful night of Rabin's killing. "Where are the kipot [skullcaps]? Some of the religious might feel bad that he died, but not enough to make them come and pay their respects".

Another woman I met told me that, whilst her husband loathed the killing, his politics prevented him coming to a rally that "he feels has been hijacked by the peace camp". This was a view I heard expressed several times during the evening, as people complained that Rabin had been adopted as an overarching "emblem of peace" by all of the left wing parties, rather than being remembered for his individual politics. "It's a shame that people are conflating his memorial with the chance to push a particular brand of politics", a man told me, gesturing to the banners of the various political parties dotted amongst the crowd.

Rabin's murder scarred the nation in a way that few other events have during Israel's turbulent history. Jew-on-Jew violence, manifested in such a deadly and deadpan fashion, touched a nerve that is still almost as raw over a decade later. The killing rent asunder any bonds between the secular public and the national religious camp, and saw both sides entrench themselves in a state of deep distrust and loathing for their opponents.

And, it would appear, the lessons of 1995 have still not been learned. Today, as reported in the Israeli press, the Jewish National Front distributed posters of Shimon Peres decked out in an Arab keffiyeh, underneath the slogan "Releasing terrorists - a president of Arabs". This incendiary tactic is exactly the same strategy as was employed by the far right in the lead up to Rabin's slaying, and is indicative of how disenfranchised the right wing are feeling whilst Kadima and co. are in power.

Lurking in the shadows of those driving the nationalist wagon is the spectre of religious dictums being used to justify extremism. Just like their terrorist counterparts on the other side of the security wall, the likes of the hilltop settlers and their backers are impossible to reason with whilst they claim to be "acting in God's name". Even Rabin's murder was allegedly a result of a rabbi issuing a Din Rodef - akin to a fatwa, making Rabin a legitimate target to be killed, to prevent him endangering other Jews' lives with his policies.

When Amir - a young, religious man who was easily-led - heeded this call and shot his way into the history books, his act was met by scores of commentators whose only reaction was that Rabin deserved what he got, under Jewish law. For a country reeling with the shock of what had just happened to their leader, to hear the slaying justified by so-called religious leaders was a shot across the bows of co-operation and understanding between the two sides.

Shimon Peres, speaking at the rally in honour of his late friend, fired the crowd up with his declaration that "we're not just here to remember him, but to carry out his will". "His torch is now in your hands", he cried, to thunderous applause. But, for all that the audience cheered him on and stamped their feet in approval of his sentiments, he was merely preaching to the converted. His words, impassioned as they were, weren't strong enough to carry to the places they most needed to be heard - because those people were too busy decrying him as an "Arab president" and sowing the seeds for another decade of sectarian division.

Let's not go full circle

One "semi-enlightened" Zionist attended a meeting of Zio-Nazis and came face-to-face with the true face of Zionist race hatred and didn't like it. Now what?

The despicable baying mob at the Kahane memorial earlier this week were the closest thing we Jews have to home-grown fascists.

"WARNING!" screamed the flyer being thrust into my hand by a concerned-looking young religious man as I entered the hall. "American Jews are in danger!" it continued. "Countless Neo-Nazi groups are spreading their venemous [sic] message ... at public demonstrations calling for violence against Jews ... and praising Hitler as a 'true hero'!"

Fair enough, I thought - that's a pretty sobering prospect, and something worth taking heed of as a Jew who cares about his brethren, and who hates to think of them in danger. That the same boy was then in the midst of a 500-strong crowd yelling "Arabs out! Arabs out!" less than an hour later, and screaming deliriously at footage of the late Meir Kahane, was as ironic as it was despicable.

"Who is wise ... those who see the future," was written halfway down the same flyer, quoting Pirkei Avot in an attempt to exhort the endangered American Jews to make aliyah to Israel and escape the Nazis' evil clutches. The wise man also sees the present though, I think - and knows when to call a spade a spade. Which is why I have no qualms whatsoever about describing the baying mob at the Kahane memorial earlier this week as the closest thing we Jews have to home-grown fascists.

For those unfamiliar with the odious, late Rabbi Kahane, he was the leader of the now-outlawed Kach party in Israel, and his politics included advocating the forcible expulsion of all Arab citizens of Israel. A former member of Knesset - until his party was banned in 1988 - he was gunned down after giving a speech in the United States in 1990. His followers have been responsible for numerous terror attacks against Israeli Arabs and Palestinians, most notably Baruch Goldstein's bloody massacre at a Hebron mosque in 1994.

At the memorial service, the mere mention of Goldstein's name received thunderous applause from the audience - all of whom were ultra-orthodox, and all of whom had not the slightest remorse at singing the praises of Israel's most notorious mass-murderer. Dozens of men wore T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan "Now everyone knows ... Kahane was right", a message every bit as repulsive as a group of German neo-Nazis wearing similar attire with Hitler's name replacing that of Kahane's.

Because, make no mistake, the politics of Kach and those of the National Socialists are chillingly similar in their vicious racism and call to arms. Footage of Kahane's more incendiary speeches were shown throughout the ceremony, as he ranted and raved to his enraptured acolytes, fists clenched and raised in triumph whilst he spat his venomous message of hate.

"There is no such thing as an Arab village in Israel," he thundered from beyond the grave, "only a Jewish village that is temporarily inhabited by Arabs." The crowd went wild, stamping their feet and giving piercing whistles, regardless of the fact that most of them had seen the footage countless times before. An impromptu chant of "Kahane still lives" was started by a boy in the row behind me, and soon the entire hall was singing as one, from the youngest schoolchildren to the most gnarled and wizened old men in the room.

The women, on the other side of the curtain mechiza (divider), were no casual bystanders to the furore. The delirium was just as fervent amongst them in response to the various speakers at the dais whipping the audience into a frenzy. One rabbi, well-known in Kach circles, took to the stage with a huge orange Star of David pinned over his heart, to the delight of those looking on. (In a sick send-up of the Yellow Star that the Nazis forced Jews to wear during the Holocaust, the far-right, anti-disengagement settlers have adopted the emblem for themselves, in protest at the detested IDF and Israeli government's evacuation of Gush Katif).

The service went on for nearly two hours, and showed no sign of abating when I'd had my fill and headed for the exit. Interspersed with the speeches were video montages put together by Kach propagandists designed to reinforce the feeling that their underground movement was the victim of obscene oppression on the part of the authorities. Like something out of A Clockwork Orange, film of riot police beating settlers and religious youths was juxtaposed onto a soundtrack of plaintive Jewish song, as children looked on in horror and their fathers shook their heads mournfully.

"But we're not beaten," cried the next speaker up. "We've got to mobilise better - every one of you here must spread the word of Kahane, and only in this way will we bring about the true Jewish State that he dreamed of." That same state, according to Kahane when he was in parliament, would have included a ban on all sexual activity between Jews and non-Jews, and seen only Jews eligible as citizens of Israel.

His assassination, and the subsequent murder of his son and daughter-in-law at the hands of Palestinian terrorists, only strengthened the resolve of his die-hard followers, who formed the Kahane Chai offshoot which is currently listed as a terrorist organisation by the FBI. It is similarly viewed in Israel too, although the blurred boundaries between Kahane Chai and the original party mean that the police are powerless to ban events such as tonight's memorial.

For my part, I'm glad they didn't, since the opportunity to witness the fascist hordes for myself was massively instructive as to how low certain elements of Israeli society have sunk. By hailing Baruch Goldstein as a latter-day saint, they're every bit as repulsive as the Hamas supporters who revere Sheikh Yassin, or the far-right Europeans who mourn Hitler's passing every year on his birthday.

As much as I sang the praises of the OneVoice volunteers in my last piece, so do I just as passionately hate each and every one of those sitting alongside me at tonight's event. These are our extremists, these are our terrorists - and this is our dirty secret that is a stain on the state that was founded as a refuge from similarly-minded fascists. If the likes of the Kachniks get their way, then the wheel will truly have come full circle, when the hunted becomes the hunter and history repeats itself once more.

Alleged Hamas Activist Turns to 'The Israel Lobby'

An alleged Hamas activist seeking a lenient sentence from a federal court in Chicago is turning for help to a hotly disputed book about Israel's influence in America, "The Israel Lobby."

A new legal filing on behalf of Abdelhaleem Ashqar relies heavily on the book from John Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago and Stephen Walt of Harvard University to argue that Ashqar's refusal to testify before grand juries investigating Hamas was justified by Israel's oppressive actions toward Palestinian Arabs.

"Every person in this court has been influenced by perception and mythology and kept ignorant through the hegemonical myth that Israel is the victim, defending itself against the barbaric Palestinians," Ashqar's attorney, William Moffitt, wrote before launching into a five-page synopsis of assertions in "The Israel Lobby" that American support for Israel is based on erroneous beliefs about the relationship between that nation and the Palestinians.

"There was no choice for Dr. Ashqar when subpoenaed in front of the grand jury. He could either join with his oppressors, reject his countrymen, forsake everything he believes, and never return to his beloved Palestine, or he could be labeled a terrorist. There is a special nobility in such a choice," the lawyer wrote.

Mr. Moffitt quotes the claim by Messrs. Mearsheimer and Walt that Arabs in Israel "are de facto treated as second-class citizens." The attorney also turns to the two professors' book for quotes in which an Israeli prime minister, Menachem Begin, called Palestinians "beasts walking on two legs" and an Israeli general, Rafael Eitan, said, "The only good Arab is a dead Arab."

Ashqar's filing goes on, with support from "The Israel Lobby," to accuse Israel of relentless expansionism, ethnic cleansing, deliberate violence toward women and children, and killing of military prisoners. Israel's occupation of the West Bank and Gaza "was founded on brute force, repression and fear, collaboration and treachery, beatings and torture chambers, and daily intimidation, humiliation and manipulation," the brief says, quoting the Harvard and Chicago professors.

In February, a jury in Chicago acquitted Ashqar of racketeering conspiracy for his alleged involvement with Hamas. However, Ashqar was convicted of obstruction of justice and criminal contempt for his refusal to testify before a grand jury probing Hamas links in America.

Despite Ashqar's acquittal on the conspiracy charge, prosecutors are seeking a life sentence, arguing that he promoted deadly terrorist attacks. The defense dismissed as "farcical" the notion that the Palestinian Arab activist should face life in prison on a contempt of court charge.

A Harvard Law School professor who has prepared a detailed rebuttal to "The Israel Lobby," Alan Dershowitz, said yesterday that he was not surprised that the book was being cited in the courts. "Walt and Mearsheimer have become the rock stars of the anti-Israel hate groups. They are quoted on Web sites all over the country and all over the world. They have become fodder for Israel bashing," Mr. Dershowitz told The New York Sun.

Mr. Dershowitz called the book "drivel" and said it would not be cited in any reputable forum, but for the esteemed affiliations of the authors. "It's the names of the institutions. They've dragged Harvard and the University of Chicago down into the mud," the law professor said. Messrs. Mearsheimer and Walt did not respond to e-mail messages yesterday seeking comment for this article.

The new court filing from Ashqar, 49, paints the former Howard University business professor as a Palestinian Arab hero whose civil disobedience has roots in the theories of Henry David Thoreau and Martin Luther King Jr. Ashqar's defense also contends that his refusal to testify was more laudable than that of a former New York Times journalist, Judith Miller, who was jailed for almost three months after refusing to identify a confidential source in an investigation into the leak of a CIA operative's identity. "Dr. Ashqar's choice displayed more bravery and principle than Judith Miller's choice," Mr. Moffitt wrote, before intimating that the Palestinian activist was resisting "genocidal oppression."

Ms. Miller was called as a prosecution witness at Ashqar's trial because Israeli authorities permitted her to witness an interrogation of one of Ashqar's co-defendants, Muhammad Salah. He is about to begin a 21-month sentence after being acquitted on the conspiracy charge but convicted of obstruction of justice. Judge Amy St. Eve, who presided over the trial, is set to sentence Ashqar on November 8.

Christian/Jewish Fascism Awareness Week

The most frenzied promulgator of fatwas against all things Islamic is professional propagandist David Horowitz, funded to the tune of $15 million by Hard Right corporations and think tanks "to promote a white supremacist, pro-war agenda." Horowitz has declared October 22nd to 26th "Islamo-Fascist Awareness Week," buttressing the Bush regime's claim that Muslim fundamentalism - as interpreted by the Christian-Jewish Right - is the moral and historical equivalent of Nazism. Senior columnist Margaret Kimberley suggests a counter-event: "Christian/Jewish Fascism Awareness Week."

Right wing propagandist David Horowitz has declared October 22nd through October 26th Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. Horowitz is one of the biggest beneficiaries of right wing welfare, mostly from the hands of ultra-conservative foundations run by the Scaife and Bradley families. He has received more than $15 million in handouts to promote a white supremacist, pro-war agenda.

The biggest perpetrators of terrorist acts are and always have been governments, not individuals of any religion. When the United States refers to "state sponsored" terror, it must be looking in the mirror. War is the very worst act of terror that can be practiced, giving governments permission to kill and commit brutal atrocities that would be loudly condemned if committed by individuals.

If the world's major religions are compared in terms of body count, it is clear that Islam should not be seen as the enemy. The two nations now in the fifth year of a plan to commit wars of aggression in the Middle East are Israel and the United States. If there should be warnings about particular religions and allegations of fascist connections, the perpetrators are Christianity and Judaism, not Islam.

It is manifestly unfair to label entire groups based on the behavior of a few. The Israeli lobby actively promotes war, but it can't be said that all American Jews are themselves pro-war. Around the world Bush is seen as the bogeyman representative of American Christianity. Many Christians may resent the verdict of guilt by association, but they would do well to remember that Muslims are also entitled to make their own pleas of individual innocence.

Instead Muslims are called upon to denounce any act of brutality committed by another Muslim, and to defend their religion from slanderous attacks. What is good for the Muslim goose, should also be good for the Christian and Jewish ganders. Therefore, October 22nd to October 26th in the year 2007 should also be known as Christian/Jewish Fascism Awareness Week.

Hagee wants war and wants Bush to start it whenever he feels like it. "We do not have a declaration of war for Iraq, and neither does the president need one to expand it into Iran." Giving political leaders permission to kill as they please is Fascism 101.

Horowitz and his gang have carried out a very sinister plan. They fit the description of fascists to a T. They believe in endless wars of aggression, the destruction of the last vestiges of civil liberties, and subservience to a corporate power. Yet they have succeeded in wielding the epithet of fascism because of Democratic party treason to Bush, a corporate media that deliberately withholds information from the public, and the apathy and confusion that dominate American life.

Americans do need to be aware of a fascist threat, a threat that comes straight from the White House, Wall Street, and the halls of Congress. It can only be fought if its presence is acknowledged and if citizens know that they still have the power to stop it.

Politicians will be of no help in this struggle. Looking to them for salvation is useless when they are in fact the source of the problem. The Democratic congressional victory is nearly one year old and has yielded nothing but one victory after another for the Bush regime.

In a little more than a year, November 4, 2008, a new president will be elected. Another Fascism Awareness Week should be declared at that time. It should be declared to remind us that the fight to maintain democracy will not end with George W. Bush. That is the awareness we really need now.

The human paraquats of Big Jewry have had their way with this country for too long. One of these toxic agents, Norman Podhoretz, a frothing Straussian, told a throng at a Barnes and Noble bookstore to “Shut up!” when the gathered listeners to the dribbling old curmudgeonly neo-convict’s crusty spiel grew tired and disgusted by his calls to murder millions in Iran, all for the partitioned Paraquat of all Paraquat nations, and the terror overclass in both America and the uncomely beast’s Knesset who wants Eretz Israel sweeping from the Nile to the Euphrates, which is very unlikely. “Of course, it’s all to fight the ‘War On Terror’!” the government-media complex will tell all the lemming luckless lackeys, who are more than ready to believe.

Norman Podhoretz and his archfiend Yiddish enfant terribles in the American neo-conservative cartel, those who have the ear and the balls of the President in a kosher jar, are the only people I know who would have the chutzpah to demand that another country fight their wars and dance the jig of death over their enemies. Of course, we know Israel is the problem, organized Jews are the problem and before the colonialism, state terror and spy ring of Irgun, then Mossad, there was nothing that any of these Judases could even point to and say “Thar blow the winds of Islamofascism!” In fact, the very term “Islamofascism” without a doubt had to have been incubated and crafted by Jewish activists, for the egalitarian and antifascist drumbeat heard in the media issues from no other quarters so consistently and reflexively.

Call it neo-conservative or neo-liberal and it makes no difference. Dr. Tom Sunic has so adroitly pinpointed these Americanisms in his own writings and he is correct that this is our Gospel as a Jewish nation. Egalitarianism drips with the honey poured athwart it, day in and day out, from the Jewish engines of regress in the media, while it is a modern truism that nothing is so repugnant and full of ignominy than “fascism” whatever the unpacking of this inflammatory buzz word means at any given and opportune moment. Hence, Muslims resisting Zionist advances are “fascists” and Walt and Mearsheimer who pen the “poison” and crack open Pandora’s Box on the Jewish Lobby are also potentially flirting with fascism and are “anti-Semitic in result if not in intent” to pluck the phraseology of Jewish Harvard President Larry Summers to the bosom of the issue at hand, which is war without end for a state (Israel) that is not worth in its entirety one drop of American blood to pump sustenance into its eternal criminal Ponzi scheme.

There is only one real hurdle for the Jewish paraquatic par redundancies who shape and shift and solder our politics to meet their always needful wills and whims. Like the Podhoretz B & N lecture disaster to promote a book World War IV: The Long Struggle Against Islamofascism by a man who has spent a lifetime recalibrating himself at his own convenience, the cattle are chafing, and actually having the first germinations of a thought process that could actually lead somewhere. They are discovering that the beast is not all-powerful or invincible, that the Goliath of Zionism could yet lose its head literally, as we can plainly surmise that its brain matter (ideological cogency, real or imagined) has begun an atrophy, though this may not make it any more innocuous. For like a rabietic dog, madness does not signify inefficacity, especially when the Other (us) is as wholesale in its otherness as the Jews see Gentiles, both Christians and Muslims, in their pecking order and standing on the uneven plane of Talmudic existence.

Americans at their best, are not battle-fatigued when squared off with the right enemy. The enemies we should be fearing are not Muslims, most of whom live in a subsistence that is Third Worldly in most cases and otherworldly to the average sheltered US citizen nursed on the milk of righteous causes and hyper-moralizing, even when the facts are still out and when they will never bear the brunt of their own Puritan impulses, again as Dr. Tunic has noted, which fit hand-in-glove with the aims of Judaism, now hyper-Zionized and self-crowning in its reign of expansionism.

For all of these reasons, America, more than any other nation-state, is ripe for the picking when the numbers for crusades, either moral or militarily imperialistic, are called. That’s why our support and group hug for Israel seems so natural and our bound-at-the-hipness is so cushy and devil-may-care for the elites. American chosenness and Jewish chosenness makes for inevitable intercourse and I think you can guess who got the real screwing when the rogering thrusts reached their cessation, if they have, as of yet, ceased. The question of who will do the post-romp paying is not an open query either.

Yes, Podhoretz and his coterie have had their way with this country for too long and their bilking ilk have stunted the growth of our garden for much longer than Israel has blemished and pocked the green earth. As he and the Straussian smart boys take the masks off and just say “Oh, the hell with it! Of course this thing was about the Israeli killing machine all along!” it will allow the eyes of the multitudes to open, the horror to spread like margarine across the faces of our everymen and everywomen, who finally see the crimes of Zion, perpetrated and perpetuated as much by our Gentile Self-Chosen Puritans as by the neo-Jacobins, the globalists and the rest. If one should wish to look upon the face of terror, war-like and wanton, then perhaps they will see the smile of the aged and decrepit Trotskyites signing autographs at the book bordello and the black hats with buckles worn weightily by the overseers of the “indispensable nation” worked into a moral frenzy yet again over “democracy” and progress that springs eternal once in a while.

ADL Calls On Governor Huckabee To Refrain From Using Holocaust Imagery

New York, NY, October 23, 2007 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called on presidential candidate Mike Huckabee to refrain from invoking Holocaust imagery, following his recent use of the term "holocaust" to refer to abortion.

The former Arkansas governor was speaking at the Family Research Council's Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C. when he referred to the "…holocaust of liberalized abortion…".

In a letter to Governor Huckabee, ADL National Director Abraham H. Foxman said: "The Holocaust was a unique tragedy in human history – an attempt by the Nazis to exterminate the Jewish people that led to the deliberate murder of six million Jews. We find the use of analogies to the Holocaust in other contexts deeply painful, disturbing and offensive. Such analogies can only trivialize and diminish the horror, and cause further pain to Holocaust survivors and to those alive today who lost friends and loved ones."

A non-partisan organization that neither endorses nor opposes candidates for office, ADL urged Huckabee and all candidates to "resist this trend rather than exacerbating it."

David Horowitz Bombs on Opening Night

Ultra-hawk blog Blackfive reports on David Horowitz’s dazzling opening of Islamofascism Awareness Week:

What a let down. My buddy Ebo and I attended Horowitz’ opening night of Islamo-Fascism Awareness week and if this is our answer to sharia, then I guess Dirka Dirka Mohammed Jihad it will be.

Both of us were predisposed to agree wth most of what Horowitz was saying, but as is my complaint fairly often, his tone and delivery ruined his chances of doing his cause much good. He spoke in front of what was potentially a very hostile crowd 3/4 or so antagonistic to his viewpoint. He was so uninspiring a speaker they didn’t even really heckle him. I will give credit to the Muslim Student Association and the other groups who were there in opposition, they maintained more decorum than Mr. Horowitz. By the end he was saying “Well I guess you just aren’t able to read” and “I don’t know what to do if you can’t add two and two and get four.” …

We held out ’til the end and the Q&A had Horowitz launching the testy ad hominems I noted and complaining that the questions were too long in comparison to his epic length musings on how dumb his audience was. I heard the College Republicans, who sponsored him, were wicked pissed.

It would have been a total bomb, but Ebo decided we needed a pitcher of Optimator in the Rathskeller and we spent about an hour talking with a couple of groups of folks who came in opposition to Horowitz. It was enagaging, entertaining and so completely superior to the waste of time that was the theater in the theater, that we resolved to attend the Muslim dialogue tomorrow night. I truly enjoyed the discussion with some folks who, although we disagreed on much, came with much more open minds and helpful attitudes than the headliner.

In related news, Horowitz is lying about the number of colleges participating in his Klan-rally-on-Quaaludes. Even Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University has had its name pulled from the list. That’s rock bottom, folks.

David Horowitz Can't Handle the Truth

Exposing "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week"

David Horowitz has a long and scurrilous track record of blatant racism, politically driven witch-hunts in academia, and constantly spewing out bald-faced lies. All of this is being ratcheted up to new levels in his upcoming "Islamo-Fascism Awareness" (IFAW). To let the lies of "IFAW" stand unexposed and unopposed would be a grave mistake with lasting consequences.

"IFAW" is both a major heightening of an ongoing assault on critical thinking and dissent in academia - and a calculated move to disorient students and professors who would expose and act against a potential new war on Iran, to whip up anti-Muslim sentiment, and to isolate and chill women studies.

Nothing about Horowitz's "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" can stand up to critical interrogation. IFAW needs to be taken on with the truth - by opening up the debate, exposing the lies packed into the premises of IFAW, and revealing the underlying motives driving it.

Let's look at what Horowitz claims is his major objective of the week: to oppose the oppression of women under "Islamo-Fascism." In fact, everything Horowitz is doing will contribute to strengthening the oppression of women here and all over the world.

A look at the line up of speakers he is dispatching for his "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" is the first sign of the level of Horowitz's hypocrisy. Sorry, you don't get to put anti-women fanatics like Rick Santorum, who opposes birth control and believes "it is harmfulto have a society that says sex outside of marriage will be tolerated," and Ann Coulter, who says women shouldn't vote because "women have no capacity to understand how money is earned," on the road and claim to speak on behalf of women anywhere! Especially not while calling for sit-ins at women's studies centers, as Horowitz is!!

Further, Horowitz's claim that U.S. aggression in the Middle East is good for women is a LIE. By attempting to force people to align with or at least be cowed into going along with the "War on Terror," Horowitz will not only be green-lighting further war crimes and crimes against humanity being commit in these wars, he will be strengthening the forces oppressing women in the Middle East. This has been well-documented in Iraq where the U.S.-installed puppet government wrote a Constitution that established Islam as the official religion, moved marriages and divorces from civil courts to the domain of the clerics, and removed women's right to child custody after divorces. The U.S. allied with Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Sistani who ordered women to cover themselves, an order that was enforced with beheadings and acid burns. And violence against women generally has skyrocketed under U.S. occupation, just this year, the UN has documented a stunning 250 "honor" killings in Northern Iraq alone.

Then there is Horowitz's LIE that the "left" has been silent about the abuses against women under fundamentalist Islamic movements and regimes.

In fact, many have spoken out the oppression of women in Islam, but since he specifies the Revolutionary Communist Party in this regard I have to say it again, David Horowitz is a fucking liar. (No, that is not a "personal attack"--it is a statement of fact which I am about to prove.)

For years RCP Chairman, Bob Avakian, has been an uncompromising voice against the oppression of women in all forms--including the ways in which fundamentalist Islam (as well as fundamentalist Christianity) has this oppression embedded in its core and can never lead to liberation. He has released volumes of writing and talks that get into this--with a new book out soon, Away With All Gods! Unchaining the Mind and Radically Changing the World--and these are widely available to anyone.

I myself have written for Revolution--the voice of the RCP--about the need to oppose both the U.S. wars of aggression and the Islamic fundamentalist response, polemicizing against the view that anyone opposing U.S. aggression should be supported and insisting that the liberation of women is a cornerstone of how any struggle for emancipation should be judged. A simple "google" will turn up excerpts, like this, where I describe the consolidation of power by the Islamic Republic of Iran: "women who refused to wear the hijab were whipped, beaten, and arrested and the legal system was changed so that the testimony of one man was equal to that of two women."

Beneath his LIES is Horowitz's real agenda. As a self-described "battering ram" of the right and for Bush's wars and fascistic repression, Horowitz wants to rule out of order--through whatever dishonestly and bullying is necessary--any discussion of the unjust role the U.S. plays in the world.

Horowitz wants to forbid any discussion that points out how, even with all this, the far greater force that is destroying the lives of people and worsening the conditions for women around the world is the U.S. empire--through its exploitation and subjugation of whole countries and their resources (including their people) for massive profit and accumulation. Horowitz wants to rule out any discussion of the role of unjust wars, torture, and crimes against humanity commit by the U.S. government as part of forcefully maintaining and reordering the U.S. empire in a world that is going through major transitions since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

For all his claims of concern for women in Islam, he cannot tolerate any examination of the major role played by the U.S. in creating conditions that have worsened the lives of millions and strengthened the oppression of women.

These conditions include millions and millions of people being uprooted from the countryside and their traditional ways of life by U.S. dominated imperialist globalization--leaving people every more brutally exploited, desperate, and longing for the sense of stability and order that fundamentalist religion often provides. These conditions include the complex pattern of cooperation and conflict between U.S. imperialism and the traditional, largely feudal based classes whose interests are represented in the political program of Islamic theocracy. These conditions include the history of the U.S. both "working through" and "propping up" these feudal strata to carry out imperialist penetration in the region while at the same time this imperialist penetration has disrupted the conditions of life and undermined the position of these outmoded and oppressive feudal and semi-feudal strata. And these conditions include a history of collaboration between the U.S. and fundamentalist Islamic forces in literally killing off secular, revolutionary and communist forces opposed to imperialism--largely burying a truly anti-imperialist political program that included equality between men and women and, instead, allowing fundamentalist theocrats to pose as the only viable "opposition" to imperialism.

There is more to be said--and learned--about all of this, but this is precisely what Horowitz wants to prevent.

Rather than really examining or disputing any of this, Horowitz is seizing on real outrages committed by fundamentalist Islamic forces against women, gays and others in order to lubricate public opinion for a potential war on Iran, intimidate and silence any who would challenge this by labeling them "terrorist-sympathizers," and take a leap in cohering and unleashing a movement of fascist foot-soldiers among a new generation to target Muslim students and women studies.

Through all this, Horowitz is playing off of and seeking to exacerbate a situation where increasingly, humanity is being confronted with two intolerable choices: Bush's crusade for empire or a reactionary Islamic fundamentalist response. The Bush regime has committed crimes on a far greater scale and is by far the greater danger to humanity, but both are complete nightmares. Both reinforce and feed off each other, and as they grow, they suck up the air to breathe for secular and progressive forces in this country and around the world.

If IFAW is ignored and unopposed, this bad polarization will be furthered.

If, on the other hand, Horowitz and his ilk are exposed, if their bullying and dishonest methods are revealed, if their underlying motives are challenged, and their political terms (with "us" or with the "terrorists") firmly rejected--then this fascistic assault on the campuses and on critical thought can be utilized to spring open discussion, debate, and political protest so desperately needed on campuses and throughout society.

Politically taking on David Horowitz and his "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" can--and must--be a part of bringing forward another way for humanity--an option that refuses to choose between crusading McWorld or reactionary Jihad--and of stopping the assault on critical thinking in academia.

David Horowitz: Caught in a Lie

Poor David Horowitz. The long slide downward has been traumatic for him. Once an author of middlebrow biographies that sold fairly well, today he has become a neoconservative nutball whose descent into megalomania has taken on increasingly bizarre forms: e.g., he recently rebaptized his longstanding vehicle, the Center for the Study of Popular Culture, with the new moniker being the “David Horowitz Freedom Center.” Now he’s gone really bonkers, with his campaign for “Islamo-fascism Awareness Week” on college campuses, which is ironic given that he’s the biggest fascist around. Yet, this morning, he’s topped even himself with an announcement in “Frontpage” that, well, just read this:

“The campaign mounted by campus leftists against Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, which is scheduled to take place on more than 100 campuses during the week of October 22-26 has taken a new turn with the announcement of a counter-protest at the Washington Monument.
The protest, which will be called “American Fascism Awareness Day” is being organized by Adam Kokesh of Iraq Veterans Against the War, the Revolutionary Communist Party, Students for Justice In Palestine, and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee among others and will feature speakers such as congressman Dennis Kucinich and presidential candidate Ron Paul, anti-war activists Cindy Sheehan and Harry Karry and actor Sean Penn. According to a spokesperson for the Revolutionary Communist Party, one of the sponsors of the event, “This is an answer to the Jew Horowitz and the neo-conservative Zionists who dragged us into an imperialist war in Iraq and are spreading hatred against Muslims to support their war plans against the Republic of Iran.”

Wow! Ron Paul, Cindy Sheehan, and the Revolutionary Communist Party—that about confirms Horowitz’s longstanding attempt to smear Rep. Paul by linking him to the “anti-American” far left. There’s just one problem: no such event is scheduled to take place. Not only is there no indication on any of the web sites of the supposedly “sponsoring” organizations, but also the date given for this historic happening—November 31—does not exist. There is no November 31: November only has thirty days.

An alternative explanation: Horowitz and his “Islamo-fascism week” were mocked by this poster which appeared at George Washington University, and this may be his way of striking back: however, as you can see, the satiric poster was pretty obviously meant to needle and not meant to be taken seriously, whereas the Horowitizian production is less obviously made-up: it’s the difference between satire and an outright hoax.

Is Horowitz just a hopeless nut-case who doesn’t care if he’s caught in a brazen lie? We report—you decide.

UPDATE: I just found this article in the Washington Times, which cites the campus Horowitzians demanding the expulsion of the students who dared mock “Islamo-fascism Week.” So, what punishment do they propose for Horowitz, who has posted a completely made-up “rally” linking Ron Paul, the Revolutionary Communist Party and anti-Semitism? How about an apology from The Horowitz—an unprecedented act that would probably cause him to dissolve in a puff of acrid smoke?

David Horowitz: A Nazi mind with a Jewish face

Many people around the world tend to forget that the holocaust didn’t start with Auschwitz- Birkenau and the use of Zyklon-B, or even with Kirstallnacht in November 1938, or the anti-Jewish Nuremberg laws three years earlier.

In fact, the enormous mass murder during World War II couldn’t have happened had it not been for the solid infrastructure of hate that the Nazis created in the late 1920 and 1930s.

For example, in his book, Mein Kampf, or My Struggle, Hitler uses the main thesis of "The Jewish peril", which speaks of a Jewish conspiracy to control the world.

This is exactly, what many Nazi-minded Zionists are doing these days, with their explicit goal being to defame, vilify, demonize and dehumanize the world’s estimated 1.5 million Muslims.

There are numerous aspects to the Zionist-led and Zionist-financed Muslim-vilifying campaign. Today, anyone with access to the internet could observe the huge volume of anti-Muslim literature flooding the world-wide web.

And, needless to say, the ultimate message of the hate literature is almost identical to that promoted by Hitler and his Nazi cohorts against Jews, namely that Muslims are “evil,” “fascist,” “racist anti-Semites,” and “hell-bent on destroying western civiliazation.”

So, the message, often unspoken but easily understood, is that Muslims should be “eliminated” and “exterminated” for the sake of mankind.

In this context, David Horowitz, a notorious icon of Jewish Islamophobia, is embarking on venemous campaign to make American college students hate everything and anything Muslim and Islamic.

In a calculatd effort to vilify Islam and generate support for further US military aggressions against Muslim countries, Horowitz is proclaiming an “Islamo-Fascism Awarness Week” on dozens of American college campuses starting Oct. 22.

The very term “Islamo-fascism” is obviously very tendentious and scandalously inaccurate. In fact, one could argue with absolute certitude that the term is an inherent and eternal oxymoron, since Islam represents the ideological anti-theisis of fascism, a western concept based on authoritarianism, chauvinism, jingoism, bellicosity and militarism.

The Quran proclaims that “ O Mankind, We (God) Created you from a single pair of male and female and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know (cooperate with) each other. Verily, the best of you, is the most God-fearing of you, and God is well-acquainted with all that you do.”

And the Prophet Muhammd taught that “there is no superiority of an Arab-over a non-Arab, or of a White person over a Black person, except through piety and moral excellence”

So, how can a religion as such be braned as “fascist”? Indeed, calling Islam fascist and using infintely corrupt terms such as Islamo-fascism is nothing short of verbal fornication.

Sure, there are Muslim fanatics and terrorists who tarnish the image of Islam by carrying out acts that are decidedly incompaible with its teachings. But these constitute a tiny fraction of Islam’s numerous followers, and are mostly ignorant people pushed into committing criminal acts as a result of real grievances inflicted on Muslim lands and Muslim peoples by Israel and her western allies, especially the United States.

Moreover, if the existence of these fanatical militants justified branding Islam as “fascist,” then what would one speak of the genocidal onslaught being perpetrated against in Iraq and Afghanistan and other Muslim peoples, by the US and other western countreis?

Similarly, if the existence of a few hundred or a few thousand desperate Palestinian resistance fighters defending their country and people in the face of the Nazi-like savagery meted out by a nuclear-armed Israel justified branding Hamas as “Islamo-fascist,” then all fighters for freedom and justice from Adam and Eve, including Jewish defenders of the Ghetto Warsaw, would have to be called Nazi, Satanic and evil.

More to the point, If Muslims are to be branded “fascist” for rejecting Jesus Christ as God or Son of God, as representatives of Christian Zionism claim openly these days, then the rest of the non-Christian world, including all world’s estimated 13 million Jews, will have to be considered “fascist” and must be exterminated, espeically if conversion proves difficult….all in the name of Jesus!!

Of course, Jesus Christ, the messenger of love and charity, is the last thing on earth that would come to Horowitz’ mind as he prepares for his hate campaign against Muslims on American campuses.

His real goal is to prepare the psychological environment for more American wars against Muslims in order to allow Israel to complete its ethnic cleansing of Palestinian Muslims and Christians in both Israel proper and the West Bank.

Today, extremist Jewish radicals and hate-mongers, people like Horowitz, Daniel Pipes and the the rest of the Zionist-dominated neocon cabal, tightly control American politics and policies, as prominent American politicians, academics and intellectuals have come to realize.

Politicians, presidential candidates congressmen and congresswomen are held hostage to the powerful Jewish lobby -so much so, that they think a thousand times before saying or even suggesting any criticism of Israel’s Nazi-like oppression of Palestinians.

Hence, it is not far-fetched to expect that these Nazi-minded Jews, who actually are a cancer upon Judaism’s moral conscience and spiritual ideals, are trying to use America’s vast resources to wage open-ended war on Islam on Israel’s behalf.

Yesterday, it was Iraq. Now, they want to get the US government to invade and attack Iran. And then Syria…and God knows who is next?

Perhaps, this wicked hysteria could, God forbid, end up in a sort of a nuclear holocaust in which millions, perhaps tens of millions of human beings would perish. Perhaps then people like Horowitz and Daniel Pipes would finally be happy and sleep quietly, with a clear conscience!!

Finally, a word to Jews, especially Jews with a conscience. -Why don’t you speak up against these paragons of hate amongst you? Why don’t you proclaim your opposition to their Nazi-like ideology and behavior? Does a Nazi discourse become kosher or acceptable when promoted by Jews?

It is a sign of hypocrisy and moral duplicity to protest anti-Semitism while playing deaf and dumb in the face of equally virulent Islamophobia which is being fostered and promoted by Jews who claim to be speaking and acting in your collective name.

Jews, of all people, should realize that spreading hate against a racial or religious community leads first to the “denaturalization” (as Avigdor Lieberman is trying to do in Israel and David Horowitz in the US) and then delegitimization of that community. And eventually, this could lead to mass murder.

Moreover, you shouldn’t be intoxicated by your power in America. The consequences of hatred would eventually boomerang on you, because hatred is blind and irrational.

Horowitz's Latest Hate Campaign Heads for Campus

With much fanfare, a collection of far-right ideologues backed by right-wing "think tank" money are proclaiming an "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" on college campuses beginning Oct. 22. It is a calculated effort to vilify Islam in general, place Muslim Student Associations on the defensive, and generate support for further U.S. military action in the Islamic world.

Muslims constitute about a quarter of the world's population and around two percent of the U.S. population. They include members of many ethnic groups. Arabs are a minority in the Muslim world; the most populous Muslim countries (Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh) are non-Arab. The Muslim world is complex and divided, religiously (into Sunni, Shiite, and other groups) and politically. There are Muslim absolute monarchies, constitutional monarchies, secular states and Islamic republics. To understand this world, one needs to dispassionately examine it, avoiding stereotypes.

But immediately after 9-11, the Bush administration, having no patience with "nuance," set about trying to link the secular republic of Iraq with the (mostly Saudi) al-Qaeda religious fanatics. It believe that having been attacked by al-Qaeda most Americans would support an attack on the completely unrelated target of Iraq. But what did al-Qaeda and Iraq have in common? The former hated the latter for its suppression of Islamic religious activism, and its tolerance for Christians and other religious minorities. But somehow Bush was able to conflate the two, so that even today about a third of Americans believe Saddam was involved in 9-11. Those on the Christian right are most inclined to this view, and to embrace sentiments like those expressed by right-wing extremist Ann Coulter in National Review Sept. 13, 2001: "We should invade [Muslim] countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." But they're joined by secular neoconservatives like Norman Podhoretz who has called on Bush to bomb Iran, which he calls "the currently main center of the Islamofascist ideology."

Iran is another country with no ties to 9-11 or al-Qaeda, and indeed a mortal enemy of the latter. But it is another Muslim state in the Bush administration's crosshairs, along with Syria-yet another, very different, Muslim country. It's in this context, and that of general disillusionment with the Iraq War, that the radical neoconservatives are pushing this "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week." It's the brainchild of David Horowitz, professional "former leftist" and Fox News commentator, proponent of the Iraq War who called one antiwar demonstration in 2002 "100,000 Communists," and author of a book attacking college professors as "far left" in general. He founded (as a non-student in his 60s) "Students for Academic Freedom" which insists that conservative students are treated unfairly in academe. Horowitz is known for his 1990s ads in student newspapers protesting calls for reparations for slavery, stating that African-Americans should be thankful that they're here. In 2003 he maligned Rachel Corrie, killed by an Israeli military bulldozer while protesting a house demolition in Gaza, as a "terrorist" supporter. He is not about spreading "awareness" but selectively focusing on aspects of the Muslim world that might produce sympathy for more U.S.-sponsored "regime change."

The "Islam-Fascism Awareness Week" strategy is apparently to focus on gender inequality in the Muslim world. Participating students invite women's groups and gay-lesbian groups to get involved, hoping to build a united front of general indignation at Islamic oppression of women and gays. Of course, in the Muslim world the status of women varies; under Saddam's secular Iraqi women were subject to no dress code, were among the best educated in the Arab world, and served in government, while under U.S. occupation their status (and that of gays) has plummeted. There is a big difference between the status of women in Syria and in Saudi Arabia. Recall how Laura Bush made a big deal about the burqa in Afghanistan, implying that the U.S. invasion would somehow remove it? It's still worn by the great majority of Afghan women. It was not invented by the Taliban and has not disappeared just because the U.S. has installed a client regime.

The term "Islamofascism" itself---popularized by Eliot Cohen (Condi Rice's deputy), Frank J. Gaffney and other neocon writers for the National Review, and used by President Bush in saber-rattling speeches---is highly problematic. It's defined by the New Oxford American Dictionary as "a controversial term equating some modern Islamic movements with the European fascist movements of the early twentieth century." I teach every year Japanese fascism in the 1930s and 40s. I discuss different definitions of fascism, pointing out how some seem to fit the Japanese case, while others don't, causing some scholars to even reject application of the term. But there is precious little in any mainstream scholarly definition of fascism that applies to the Islamic world in general or even specific countries. What "ideology" links the disparate targets of this administration-the al-Qaeda and Taliban Sunni fanatics, the Baathists of Iraq and Syria, the Shiite mullocracy"guided democracy" of Iran---other than the common denominator of Islam? But you can't in polite company attack Islam in general, so you dub it "Islamofascism."

Those seeking to link contemporary Islam with European fascism emphasize feelings of victimization and dreams of restoring lost glory. But where in the Muslim world is the charismatic leader? Bin Laden? The Baathists and Shiites hate him. Where's the mass-based party? Where's ultranationalism or racism? Islam emphasizes the equality of peoples before God, while the Qur'an explicitly states that righteous Christians and Jews will enter Paradise.

The real intention here is to couple "Islam" with a powerful epithet, devoid of analytical content, conjuring up images of a universally detested past. Bush insists on comparing the constitutionally weak Iranian President Ahmadinejad, leading a country that hasn't attacked another in hundreds of years, with Hitler (as his father compared Saddam to Hitler). Similarly, the proponents of the "Islamofascism" concept want to play upon emotions rather than really spread "awareness." Their historical analogies are absurd, while their planned week is more than an affront to Muslims. It is an insult to everybody's intelligence.

Zionists stop Archbishop Tutu from speaking at a Catholic university in Minnesota

Last spring the Justice and Peace Studies program at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota had arranged for the world renown humanitarian Archbishop Desmond Tutu to speak on campus. In 1984 Archbishop Tutu was awarded both the Nobel Peace Prize and the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism and is greatly respected all over the globe.

Some people in the US and Israel however hate Archbishop Tutu because of his stand against "apartheid" in Palestine and the ongoing ruthless genocide of the Palestinian people. It did not take long for the powerful Pro-Israel Jewish Lobby to go to work to stop Archbishop Tutu from speaking at the "Catholic" University of St. Thomas. As a result, the president of the university, Rev. Dennis Dease, has now cancelled Archbishop Desmond Tutu as a speaker.

The Jewish Lobby in America wields great influence on all major institutions and this includes the federal government. Influence over Catholic universities is no exception. A close inspection of who is on the University of St. Thomas Board of Trustees is very revealing. Also, the late Jesuit priest Father Malachi Martin exposed how the Vatican has been infiltrated by Judeo-Masonic conspirators.

The world has now witnessed how the Zionist Neocons in the Bush Administration led the country into attacking Iraq. They are now engineering an attack on Iran as well. The shocking revelation that they can easily twist the arm of a president of a major Catholic university should then come as no surprise. For a long time, a major agenda for "Zionism USA" has been the take over of America's institutions of higher learning. They have succeeded greatly in public and private universities and it looks like their tentacles now reach deeply into even Catholic colleges and universities.

On Friday, a spokesman at the University of St. Thomas said that this week president Dennis Dease might reconsider his orders to ban Archbishop Desmond Tutu from campus . Do not hold your breath though, Zionists seem to have too strong a grip on his arm.
