Feeding on Fear

"The al-Qaeda attacks on New York City and the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, truly changed the United States, and not for the better. National pathologies and suppressed xenophobia have been unleashed as never before, fanned by the belligerent rhetoric coming out of Washington and from the U.S. media. As James Madison put it, "If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." That enemy has been terrorism."

Oil falls below $106 in Asia on stronger dollar

"Light, sweet crude for October delivery fell $1.15 to $105.19 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange midday in Singapore. The contract inched up 11 cents overnight to settle at $106.34."

In Singapore??? How is that helping the poor smuck in Jersey City???

U.S. plans $7 billion missile-defense sale to UAE

"The Bush administration is planning to sell the United Arab Emirates an advanced U.S. missile defense system valued at up to $7 billion that could be used to defend against Iran, people who have attended briefings on the matter said on Monday."

Interesting wording - the Iranians have never attacked anyone, unlesss it was in retaliation for an attack against them. So, why would the UAE need an "advanced U.S. missile defense system" specifically to defend against Iran?

Schwarzenegger could soon face recall

"As if Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't have enough troubles with the state's $17.2 billion budget mess, now comes word that there may be a move afoot to recall him."

Russia 'could destroy NATO ships in Black Sea within 20 minutes'

"Despite the apparent strength, the NATO naval group in the Black Sea is not battle-worthy, Admiral Eduard Baltin said. If necessary, a single missile salvo from the Moskva missile cruiser and two or three missile boats would be enough to annihilate the entire group. Within 20 minutes the waters would be clear," he said, stressing that despite major reductions, the Black Sea Fleet still has a formidable missile arsenal."

Russia may push forward with S-300 sales to Iran

"The U.S. and Israel were alarmed by media reports, which started circulating as early as 2005, on the possible delivery of S-300 surface-to-air missiles to Iran, as these systems could greatly improve Iranian defenses against any air strike on its strategically important sites, including nuclear facilities."

Palin pastor speaks about Israel

In Case You Missed This: Russia Ready to Vaporize the Jewish State

“When the end finally comes for Israel, it will all be over in microseconds. Flying faster than rifle bullets, the Sunburns will approach Tel Aviv and Haifa at twice the speed of sound, detonating in blinding white 200 Kiloton flashes designed to instantly transform animal vegetable and mineral into heat and light.”

Bush administration yanks Russia nuclear pact

President Bush salutes in the rain as he returns from Camp David to the White House in Washington September 6, 2008. (Jonathan Ernst/Reuters)

"That official said the administration wanted to ensure the accord did not go to a vote in Congress, where it could have been rejected following Russia's military action in Georgia. If rejected, it would be difficult for a new presidential administration to pursue the agreement in the future."

Look at the headline and then look at what's actually written in the article. The headline would lead one to believe that Bush is somehow punishing Russia as he "yanks Russia nuclear pact." But, what Bush actually did was save the nuclear pact by not allowing it to go before Congress for a vote where it could have been voted down which would have really killed it. This is the kind of bull-sh*t reporting that is consistently fed to the American public. Unfortunately, most Americans eat this crap with a spoon.

"Blumberg is chairman of an organization offering Jewish families as much as $50,000 to relocate to Dothan, an overwhelmingly Christian town of 58,000 that calls itself the Peanut Capital of the World. Get involved at Temple Emanu-El and stay at least five years, the group's leaders say, and the money doesn't have to be repaid."

Of course, Ethopian Jews need not apply...

The Palin Effect: McCain vs. Obama

Republican Nominee for Vice President of the United States

Video shows dead Afghan children after US raid

Afghans prepare graves for people killed by a US airstrike on Azizabad village in Herat province. The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) says it has has found "convincing evidence" that 90 civilians -- including 60 children -- were killed in US-led air strikes last week. (AFP/File/Reza Shirmohammadi)

"Two videos that appear to show the bodies of at least 10 children and many more adults covered in blankets and white shrouds lend weight to Afghan and U.N. allegations that a U.S.-led raid killed scores of civilians last month. One video, obtained by The Associated Press on Monday and apparently taken by a cell phone, is grainy and details such as a precise body count are difficult to make out. But it appears that several dozen bodies, all covered by blankets, are lined up one next to another in a mosque."

Interesting language - I wonder how a child with it's head blown off can APPEAR to be dead...

16 US troops commit suicide in Iraq

Pakistan threatens to retaliate against US

"Border violations by US-led forces in Afghanistan, which have killed scores of Pakistani civilians, would no longer be tolerated, and we have informed them that we reserve the right to self defense and that we will retaliate if the US continues cross-border attacks," Khan said in an exclusive interview with Press TV."

Foxman: Shillin` for Palin and Jews for Jesus

"Abe Foxman is now shillin’ for Sarah Palin. Many of you know that just a few weeks ago Sarah Palin’s church, with her in attendance, welcomed the director of Jews for Jesus into its midst. In his sermon he said, among other hurtful things, that Israelis killed in terror attacks died because of God’s judgment against them for not accepting Jesus. After listening to this hateful nonsense, the Church took up a collection for the group’s deceitful proselytizing among Jews."

ADL condemns evangelical conversion drive

"The New York-based Anti-Defamation League on Sunday denounced a call by a Canadian-based international evangelical Christian organization to target European Jews for conversion, calling it a "serious affront to the Jewish people" and "disrespectful" to Judaism."

Brazil, Argentina drop dollar for bilateral trade

Former executives at Fannie and Freddie stand to collect big paychecks

"Under the terms of his employment contract, Daniel Mudd, the departing head of Fannie Mae, stands to collect $9.3 million in severance pay, retirement benefits and deferred compensation, provided his dismissal is deemed to be "without cause," according to an analysis by the consulting firm James F. Reda & Associates. Mudd has already taken home $12.4 million in cash compensation and stock option gains since becoming chief executive in 2004, according to an analysis by Equilar, an executive pay research firm. Richard Syron, the departing chief executive of Freddie Mac, could receive an exit package of at least $14.1 million, largely because of a clause added to his employment contract in mid-July as his company's troubles deepened. He has taken home $17.1 million in pay and stock option gains since becoming chief executive in 2003."

MSNBC Drops Olbermann, Matthews as News Anchors

"The move, confirmed by spokesmen for both networks, follows increasingly loud complaints about Olbermann's anchor role at the Democratic and Republican conventions. Olbermann, who regularly assails President Bush and GOP nominee John McCain on his "Countdown" program, was effusive in praising the acceptance speech of Democratic nominee Barack Obama. He drew flak Thursday when the Republicans played a video that included a tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks, saying that if the networks had done that, "we would be rightly eviscerated at all quarters, perhaps by the Republican Party itself, for exploiting the memories of the dead, and perhaps even for trying to evoke that pain again. If you reacted to that videotape the way I did, I apologize.""

Obama's verbal slip (my Muslim faith) fuels his critics

Sen. Barack Obama's foes seized Sunday upon a brief slip of the tongue, when the Democratic presidential nominee was outlining his Christianity but accidentally said, "my Muslim faith." The three words -- immediately corrected -- were during an exchange with ABC's George Stephanopoulos on "This Week," when he was trying to criticize the quiet smear campaign suggesting he is a Muslim.

I have always been puzzled by the fact that Americans have a total love affair with Jews and Judaism which rejects Jesus Christ, but disapproves of Islam and Muslims who love and hold Jesus Christ in extremely high regard as a major Prophet of God. Would Americans really perfer a Jewish president or vice president who deny the existence of their Lord and Saviour? Yep, they probably would...

Congress is about to pour lighter fluid on Iran

"The U.S. Congress may inadvertently lay the foundations for war against Iran when it reconvenes in Washington this month."

Georgia seeks emergency decision from World Court

"Georgia accused Russia on Monday of a "campaign of harassment and persecution" in its two separatist regions and called on the International Court of Justice to impose emergency measures to halt killings and forced expulsions."

This ought to be interesting - considering the "killings and forced expulsions" the Israelis have perpetrated against the Palestinians during the past 60 years.

Peres warns Olmert: Attack on Iran could spark wide-scale war

"The military path will not solve the problem," Peres said in an interview with Britain's Sunday Times. "Such an attack can trigger a bigger war." Peres said he prefers the civilian path, adding that he has voiced this sentiment directly to Olmert. However, he declined to reveal what the prime minister had said in response."

Seems that least ONE Israeli has finally realized that Iran AIN'T bull-sh*ting about massive retaliation if attacked. Give that man a cigar -

Sarah Palin's 9 Most Disturbing Beliefs

"It's time to shift the discussion about Palin to what really matters: her far-right views on the issues."

Weird Theology in Wasilla: A Look Inside Sarah Palin's Pentecostal Church

"On June 8, 2008 Palin was publicly blessed, with the "laying on of hands" before six thousand Wasilla area church members, by Head Wasilla Assembly of God Pastor Ed Kalnins and on the same day both Kalnins and Palin described, at a "Masters Commission" ceremony at the Wasilla Assembly of God church, how she had been blessed prior to winning the Alaska governorship by an African cleric known for driving the "spirit of witchcraft" out of a town in Kenya, after which town supposedly crime rates dropped "almost to zero.""

U.S. drones hit Taliban commander's Pakistan house

Missiles fired by U.S. drones killed at least six people on Monday in a Pakistani village near the Afghan border where a religious school founded by an old friend of Osama bin Laden is located, witnesses said. 'There were two drones and they fired three missiles,' said a resident of Dandi Darpakheil, a village near Miranshah, main town of the North Waziristan tribal region. (Graphics/Reuters)

"The doctors said 15 to 20 wounded people, most of them women and children, had been taken to Miranshah's main hospital."

Murdering innocent women and children - America's way of winning hearts and minds. The Americans seem to be "winning hearts and minds" on a daily basis these days.

One million signatures to be sent to UN to urge it to end Gaza siege

"According to Sarraj, the document, which will be sent to the UN General Assembly on the occasion of holding its regular session, confirms that the Israeli siege violates the international system of human rights and international humanitarian law as well as the fourth Geneva convention which obliges Israel to respect civilians in time of war."

And, then what??? You don't think they know that already???

Palin church promotes converting gays

"You'll be encouraged by the power of God's love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality," according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed for about six years. Palin's conservative Christian views have energized that part of the GOP electorate, which was lukewarm to John McCain's candidacy before he named her as his vice presidential choice. She is staunchly anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples."

The more I learn about the VP Candidate, the more she sounds like a Christian Taliban...

Palin: wrong woman, wrong message

"Selecting Sarah Palin, who was touted all summer by Rush Limbaugh, is no way to attract most women, including die-hard Clinton supporters. Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Clinton."

Updated: Hurricane Ike prompts evacuation orders for the Florida Keys

"Given this is currently a Cat. 4 hurricane and a slight shift in the track to the north could bring very dangerous conditions to the Keys, we believe it’s prudent to continue the resident evacuation as planned. We do understand the inconvenience of evacuations for Keys residents and visitors, but their safety is our top priority. It’s just too close to not react to it.”

In Case You Missed This: Pakistan women's deaths condemned

Reports from the district of Nasirabad said the women were killed because three of them wanted to get married without the approval of their families."

In Case You Missed This: First Muslim Congressman Excels in Foreign Outreach

"The first Muslim member of the U.S. Congress has become a de facto American emissary, meeting with foreign policy makers both here and abroad to preach peace and democracy. Rep. Keith Ellison, a Democrat, had already developed an international reputation when he took his oath of office on the Quran last year. In his first term in office, he has built on that with congressional trips, State Department functions and internationally themed town hall meetings in his district."

"Peace is a key component of what I'm here to do," he said in a recent interview. "The overarching idea is that the world is safer if America has more friends, more understanding, more basis for communication. The world is safer if we in the United States Congress can help diminish the level of desperation of the desperately poor. The world is also safer if we can help strengthen democracies so that we don't have failed states."

Author of faked Holocaust book fights publisher

"Defonseca acknowledged earlier this year her stories of being taken in by wolves to escape the Nazis, killing a German soldier in self-defense, and walking across Europe in search of her parents were her own fantasies. In fact, Defonseca admitted she isn't even Jewish."

We can only speculate about how many more lies have been sold to us regarding the so-called "holocaust" and "holocaust survivors."

'Turn Your Back On Palin ... You'd Best 'Watch Your Rear-End'

IS PALIN THE RIGHT HOUND FOR THE OBAMA MOOSE? ...

"Attack a woman like Palin, and the result is to make her a victim of machismo, sexism, prejudice, etc. Turn your back to her and you'll be left with a nice bite on your rear end. And Obama's must be hurting now: Palin attacked him in a way that not even Hillary Clinton had the audacity to do. She didn't even spare Obama's wife Michelle."

US warship confronts Russian military in ‘tinderbox’ port

"The arrival of the USS Mount Whitney, flagship of the 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean, came as Moscow accused Dick Cheney, the hawkish US Vice-President, of stoking tensions during a visit to Tbilisi this week.
