At Least 15 Killed as Commuter and Freight Trains Collide in Los Angeles

Firefighters worked to rescue victims of a collision between a commuter train and a freight train in the Chatsworth area of the San Fernando Valley, northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

A freight train collided with a rush-hour commuter train in Los Angeles on Friday evening, killing at least 15 people and injuring scores of others, many of them critically. The crash was potentially the deadliest accident in the history of the Southern California commuter trains.
