A Time to Kill, And a Time to Heal

Yuval, a 40-year-old major in the air force, lives with his wife and three children on Palmachim air base, some 20 miles north of Gaza. After the second intifada, Yuval flew targeted killing missions over Gaza, shooting missiles that killed some fifteen intifada leaders. - Laura Blumenfeld - The Washington Post

There's something "Jekyll and Hyde-ish" about this story. During the day he cures children and at night he kills them. But, notice how the story makes him out to be some kind of a hero by saying he "killed some fifteen intifada leaders," as if they are certain that ALL fifteen killed were actually "leading" the intifada and that there were absolutely no "collateral" damage ~ meaning no innocent men, women and children were killed. Of course, when helicopter gunships fire missiles at apartments and homes filled with sleeping women and children "collateral" damage is bound to occur. So, in my book, Dr. Jekyll here is no hero, he's actually a schizophrenic murderer.
