Hala Abu Saif's 1st-grade class is seen at the Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children in Gaza. The school ran out of hearing-aid batteries in September due to Israeli import restricitions. Now thye rely solely on sign language, which makes it difficiult, if not impossible, to acquire the spoken language.
