Fox News - Attack Iran Now!

by Attytood - Sept 26, 2007

Remember this gem from a few weeks ago:

They [the source's institution] have "instructions" (yes, that was the word used) from the Office of the Vice-President to roll out a campaign for war with Iran in the week after Labor Day; it will be coordinated with the American Enterprise Institute, the Wall Street Journal, the Weekly Standard, Commentary, Fox, and the usual suspects. It will be heavy sustained assault on the airwaves, designed to knock public sentiment into a position from which a war can be maintained. Evidently they don't think they'll ever get majority support for this--they want something like 35-40 percent support, which in their book is "plenty."

Now, just three weeks after Labor Day, you'd be shocked, shocked to learn that stories about attacking Iran are appearing on Fox. I was flipping the dial on the way into office and was amazed at the stories that Sean Hannity was touting for his "Hannity and Colmes" show on FNC, all about attacking Iran.

Sure enough, from the show's Web site:

  • As Ahmadinejad makes waves in America, what would a U.S. strike against Iran's nuclear facilities look like?
Because I'm sure the American public is just dying to see what an attack on a country that we're currently not at war with would look like. I myself am going to wait until they show what a ground invasion of Ontario would look like.

Honestly, it's mindboggling how this stuff just rolls straight from the overblown furor over Ahmadinejad's visit into the blueprint for a massive war.

"By the time we actually attack -- and I increasingly do think it's coming -- most Fox viewers will say, "Hey, I thought we already nuked that guy three months ago. Well, that's what he gets for attacking us on 9/11."

Because you want to see it, here's the video of "Target: Iran."
