Settlers Who Long to Leave the West Bank

Rimonim, a Jewish settlement in the West Bank. The vast majority of settlers vow never to leave the West Bank, but some see the occupation as wrong.

“I came here 25 years ago to live in the countryside and raise my family,” said David Avidan as he sat in a neighbor’s living room here one recent evening to discuss an exit strategy. “We wanted to resettle the whole land of Israel,” he added. “But now when I see how our soldiers treat Palestinians at the checkpoints, I am ashamed. I want us to get out of here. I want two states for two people. But I can’t get any money for my house and I can’t leave.”

Israeli settlers attack Rabbis guarding Palestinian olive harvest near Hebron

"This is just the beginning of the olive harvest which will be going on for the next two months," said the executive director of Rabbis for Human Rights, Arik Ascherman.
He said activists were going to 40 Palestinian villages to protect olive growers and uphold their right to work the land, and harvest. They would act "as human shields" if necessary.

"Hundreds of Israeli settlers join in violence against Palestinians

"These hundreds are engaged in conspiratorial actions against Palestinians and the security forces. It's a very grave phenomenon...." "The margins [in the settler community] are expanding, because they are enjoying a tailwind and the backing of part of the leadership, both rabbinical and public, whether in explicit statements or tacitly."

In other words, elements of the State are supporting terror against the Palestinians - well, doesn't that make Israel a TERRORIST STATE??

Israeli settlers slay Palestinian shepherd

On Saturday, 27 September 2008, a Palestinian teenager from Aqra village southeast of Nablus City was shot dead by Israeli settlers. The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) utterly condemns this heinous crime, and reiterates that the neglect of complaints submitted by Palestinian civilians against Israeli settlers, plus the protection provided by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) to the settlers, have encouraged the settlers to continue launching attacks against unarmed Palestinian civilians.

Of course, Israel's "investigation" into the murder disputes eye witness reports - their report claims the Shepherd's death was an "accident" caused by an unexploded shell."

Why Israeli settlers are lashing out

"We're at a turning point of great significance," Ezrahi says. "What happened in the occupied territories was a growth of a culture of illegalism, and when this culture is allowed to flourish for a long time, violence enters and people think they will be invincible to any repercussions from the apparatus of the state."

In other words, Israeli settlers have been allowed to murder and perpetrate terror on the Palestinians for years while the Israeli government turned a blind eye. Now, the settlers are turning their anger towards the Zionist state. Now, suddenly, they are called "radicals" and "something must be done."

Israeli settlers threaten to kill British film crew, curse Jesus

This is a video that ALL Christians everywhere, and especially American Christian Zionists, should see. The video shows an Israeli settler threatening a British film crew and cursing Jesus ("You and you're fucking Jesus can kiss my ass... We killed Jesus and we're proud of it"). The JEWISH TERRORIST goes on to threaten to kill Palestinians on whose land the settlers are trespassing.

UN Security Council to debate Israel settlements

The U.N. Security Council has agreed to end months of silence and discuss Israeli settlement activities on land the Palestinians want for a future state, a U.N. spokeswoman said Thursday.

What a joke...

Radical Settlers Take On Israel

The Jewish settlement of Itamar in the West Bank, with the Palestinian city of Nablus in the background. Some settlers are violently resisting any pullout prospect.

There have been bouts of settler violence for years, notably during the transfer of Gaza to the Palestinians in 2005. Now, though, the militants seem to have spawned a broader, more defined strategy of resistance designed to intimidate the state.

But, of course, since they're Israeli Jews, they CAN'T be terrorists - they're RADICALS...

Army: Settlers have crossed red line

Late Wednesday night, some 40 activists arrived at an IDF position - manned by reservists - near the settlement of Talmon, just west of Ramallah. The activists attacked the reservists, tried to enter the post and damaged the pipe system that carries water to the base. The reservists tried to fend off the attackers, who called the soldiers "Nazis."

Interesting story about masked Israeli settlers AKA Brooklyn New York transplants attacking and IDF outpost. Also, note the use of the descriptor "activists" - if they were Arabs they would be terrorists.

Israel "confiscates" more Palestinian land

Israeli authorities and settlers have seized large plots of land surrounding settlements in the occupied West Bank and are blocking Palestinians from accessing them, an Israeli human rights group said on Thursday.

How can the Palestinians have peace with a people who are absolutely intent on "wiping them off the face of the earth." Yes, I'm referring to the Israel...

Terrorists Israeli Settler fires rocket at Palestinians

"The officials said troops in the area heard a loud explosion and initially thought Palestinians were attacking the settlement of Yitzhar, where the seminary is situated. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the incident, which occurred about two weeks ago, is still being investigated by police and agents of the Shin Bet security agency."

Right - it would just have to be the Palestinians, wouldn't it?

Hitler Youth in the West Bank

"Last week, the Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem released video clips showing masked Jewish settlers ganging up on and severely beating elderly Palestinian peasants near the town of Yatta, southwest of Hebron. At least three Palestinians were wounded in the unprovoked assault, including a man and his wife, both in their early sixties."

Yesha council: Rice comments 'impertinent and shameless'

"Visiting US secretary of state's harsh condemnation of settlement construction draws ire of Yesha council, though mostly against Israeli leadership. Council chairman: 'Israel has been spat at in the face and the government treats it as raindrops'"

Hey Condi, still think the Israelis are your friends?

Settlers fake kidnapping near Nablus

"Large numbers IDF troops entered the village of Ein Abous near Nablus Wednesday overnight, following a report by two settler youths from the area who claimed a friend of theirs had been kidnapped by Palestinians."

What's not reported is the number of Palestianian women and children that were murdered during this charade.

More than one-third of settlements built on private Palestinian land

"More than one-third of Israel's 122 West Bank settlements were built on land confiscated from private Palestinian owners on security grounds, including some erected after the Israeli Supreme Court outlawed such seizures three decades ago, the Haaretz newspaper reported on Monday."

Israel may declare intention to evacuate outposts ahead of Bush's visit

"Israel may declare its intention to evacuate several illegal outposts during US President George W. Bush's visit in the country two weeks from now."

Apartheid Israel - A Call To Action for Black Folks

Israeli settlers increasing in West Bank

by Tim Butcher - Nov 8, 2007

The population of Israeli settlers living in the occupied West Bank has grown significantly in spite of Israel's undertaking to crack down on settlements, a respected human rights group has said in a report.

Peace Now, a group that monitors Israeli settlement activity in occupied territories, said the settler population had reached 267,500, an increase of 5.8 per cent, or three times the national population growth figure.

The report undermines claims by Israel that it is serious about dealing with the issue of settlements which are deemed illegal under international law because occupiers are forbidden from establishing population centres on land taken in war.

And it casts a shadow over the Middle East peace summit due within the next few weeks at Annapolis in America as diplomats had been hoping for confidence-building measures to ease talks between Israelis and Palestinians.

News that Israeli communities are being extended on land claimed by Palestinians will do little to build confidence on the Palestinian side.

Peace Now said settlers have found a way of avoiding an Israeli government ban on transporting caravans to West Bank settlements. Instead, they bring flat-pack components in cars and assemble them in situ.

"If you want to have a two-state solution then you can't continue to expand settlements," Yariv Oppenheimer, director of Peace Now, said.

"Every day it gets more difficult to talk about borders."

Israel pledged under a U.S.-backed peace "road map" in 2003 to evacuate unauthorised outposts built after March 2001, when Ariel Sharon took office as prime minister.

Peace Now said only four have been completely removed while scores have been extended.
